Waterfalls are a miracle created by nature and are a very spectacular sight.
Let's experience the spectacular sight and majestic momentum of the world's waterfalls!
1. Niagara Falls
Niagara Falls is located on the Niagara River at the border of Canada and the United States.
The river's Island separates the falls into two parts, the larger part is Hosshu Falls, near the Canadian side, 56 meters high, and about 670 meters long. The smaller is the Amerika Falls, adjacent to the U.S. side, 58 meters high and 320 meters wide.
Niagara Falls and the formation of Niagara Gorge washed out by it has special geological conditions. The United States and Canada to protect the falls have spent a lot of money building a number of control works so that the waterfall on erosion of the rock has reduced.
2. Victoria Falls
Victoria Falls is located in the middle reaches of the Zambezi River in Africa, on the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe. Victoria Falls is actually a large waterfall group, with seven nearly 100-meter-long waterfalls arranged on the cliff face from west to east. In terms of width, drop and water volume, Victoria Falls is among the world's top.
The widest point of Victoria Falls is 1,690 meters. Opposite the cliff where the river falls is another cliff. They are only 75 meters apart, and in between, there is a narrow gorge where the water forms a huge whirlpool that flows down the 72-kilometer-long gorge to Victoria Falls.
This beautiful natural wonder remained untouched until the 12th century. Because there was no trace of human life here, they believed that this beautiful place must be inhabited by spirits.
3. Iguazu Falls
Iguazu Falls are the largest waterfall in South America and the widest in the world. The magnificent Iguazu Falls are located 25 kilometers upstream of the point where the Iguazu and Parana rivers merge at the border of Argentina and Brazil. The falls are horseshoe-shaped, about 4 km wide, with an average drop of 75 meters.
The name of Iguazu Falls comes from the Guarani language, meaning "great water". According to legend, an immortal once intended to marry a beautiful local girl, but the girl eloped with the man of her dreams in a canoe. In anger, the gods cut the river off, making the lovers' dreams unfulfilled.
Iguazu Falls is a huge and powerful waterfall, the sound of which can be heard 25 kilometers away.
4. Angeles Falls
Located on the Churon River, a tributary of the Caroni River, Angeles Falls is tucked deep in the dense forest of the highlands of Venezuela and Guyana.
Angel Falls is the world's largest waterfall, the Churon River water from the flat-topped plateau of the steep wall straight down, barely touching the sheer cliff, the drop of 979.6 meters, about 18 times the height of Niagara Falls.
The waterfall falls in two stages, first cascading 807 meters onto a rock shelf and then dropping 172 meters into a large pool 152 meters wide at the base of the mountain.
The rainforest in this area is so dense that it is impossible to reach the base of the falls on foot. During the rainy season, the river becomes deeper due to heavy rainfall and one can enter by boat.
During the rest of the year, the falls can only be viewed from the air. Angeles Falls is the largest waterfall in the world.
If you have the opportunity, you need to go to the scene to feel the impact and beauty of the waterfall.
