Major cities around the world have a number of tower-shaped buildings.

Some of which become the tallest structures in the city and are landmarks of that city or country.

1. Shanghai Oriental Pearl TV Tower

Shanghai Radio and Television Tower, built in 1994, is known as the Oriental Pearl Tower.

It is one of the iconic cultural landscapes of Shanghai, located in Lujiazui, Pudong New Area, and is about 468 meters high.

Three Optimist columns connect several spheres of different sizes, the largest of which is 50 meters in diameter.

In addition to functions such as signal transmission, sightseeing, and dining, there are supporting rooms between the two largest spheres, which are known as space hotels.

The Oriental Pearl Tower also hosts six sets of wireless TV transmission services in Shanghai, covering a radius of 80 kilometers.

2. Canadian National Television Tower

This tower, also known as Sean's Tower, was built in 1976. For nearly 30 years, it has held the title of the tallest tower in the world.

It is also the symbol of Toronto, the largest city in Canada.

Back in 1995, it was listed as one of the seven engineering wonders of the world by the American Society of Civil Engineers and is a member of the World Federation of Tall Towers.

At 553.33 meters tall, the Canadian National Television Tower is currently the fifth tallest self-supporting structure in the world.

The tower is considered a landmark in Toronto and attracts more than two million visitors each year.

Since its completion in 1976, the tower was listed as the tallest building in the Guinness Book of World Records until it was surpassed by the Burj Khalifa.

However, from a professional point of view, the National Television Tower is not a building, but a non-architectural structure.

The Canadian National Television Tower is an iconic structure in Toronto.

It is also the second-tallest communications tower in the world.

There are more than 1,700 metal steps in the tower. The tower is about a hundred or so stories high.

Poured with high-strength concrete, the tower has a Y-shaped cross-section that gradually shrinks upward into a cylindrical shape to support the base of the transmitting tower, and then upward is the steel tower of the transmitting antenna.

3. Kuala Lumpur Tower

The KL Tower was officially opened in 1996 and is a landmark in Kuala Lumpur. The height of KL Tower is 421 m.

When it was completed in 1995, it was the fourth tallest tower in the world.

However, KL Tower is mainly used as a wireless communication tower for tourists to visit.

The KL Tower is located on Coffee Hill in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, giving it a higher height.

The exquisite glass decoration is its characteristic feature.

KL Tower is the tallest tower in Southeast Asia and the fourth tallest communication tower in the world.

It is also a member of the World Federation of Famous Towers and a landmark of Kuala Lumpur.
