Oranges are a widely enjoyed fruit during the winter months due to their sweet and tangy flavor.

They offer a rich source of nutrition and can provide various essential nutrients to support human health.

Though oranges are commonly consumed by simply slicing and eating, there exists a wide array of delicious preparations that can surprisingly elevate their flavors and appeal.

Method 1: Salt-Steamed Oranges

Ingredients: 1 orange, 4 grams of salt, 200 ml of water

Instructions: Start by washing the orange and piercing small holes in it using a toothpick. Sprinkle 1 gram of salt inside and cover the holes with the cut top. Place the prepared orange in a steamer and steam over high heat for about 15 minutes until it becomes tender.

Method 2: Orange Jelly

Ingredients: 300 grams of oranges, 10 grams of gelatin, 50 grams of sugar

Instructions: After scrubbing the orange peel with salt, quarter the orange and extract the flesh and juice. Soak the gelatin in ice water until it becomes soft. Heat the orange juice and add the softened gelatin, stirring until well combined. Strain the mixture if needed and pour it into the orange shells. Refrigerate until the jelly sets.

Method 3: Homemade Orange Juice

Ingredients: 1 orange, warm water

Instructions: Wash the orange peel thoroughly and cut it in half. Using a manual juicer, squeeze the juice from one half into a small cup. Dilute the juice with twice the amount of warm water for a refreshing homemade orange drink.

Method 4: Orange Chiffon Cake

Ingredients: 80 grams of cake flour, 4 eggs, 50 grams of sugar, 40 grams of corn oil, 1 orange

Instructions: Clean the orange peel with salt and use a peeler to obtain thin strips. Chop the orange peel finely and extract 50 grams of orange juice. In a mixing bowl, whisk egg yolks and 10 grams of sugar until well combined. Stir in the orange juice and corn oil. Gradually fold in the sifted cake flour until the batter is smooth.

In a separate bowl, beat egg whites and gradually add 40 grams of sugar until stiff peaks form. Carefully blend the egg white mixture into the batter. Pour the batter into an 8-inch mold and bake at 160 degrees Celsius for 55 minutes. Once baked, allow the cake to cool and release it from the mold.

Method 5: Orange-Infused Steamed Eggs

Ingredients: 1 orange, 1 egg, milk

Instructions: Remove the top of the orange and hollow out the pulp. In a bowl, beat an egg and add a moderate amount of milk, whisking until frothy. Pour the mixture into the hollowed-out orange and seal it with a toothpick. Steam the prepared orange for 20-25 minutes. Once steamed, the orange-infused steamed egg is ready to enjoy.
