Activities and Exploration

While the Lakeshore Pathway is the main trail, there are other ways to enjoy Lake Louise.

Rent a Canoe:

Canoeing on Lake Louise is a unique experience. Rentals are usually managed by the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise Boathouse, costing around CAD 125 per hour for non-hotel guests. If you stay at the hotel, you'll receive a discount.

Take a Scenic Drive:

The Icefields Parkway, which starts near Lake Louise, is one of the most scenic drives in the world. It stretches approximately 232 kilometers (144 miles) to Jasper in Jasper National Park and many viewpoints along the way offer panoramic views of glaciers, mountains, and valleys. For easy photo opportunities along the road, check out Bow Lake, the lower viewpoint at Peyto Lake, and Athabasca Falls.
