Welcome to Arches National Park, Lykkers!

With over 2,000 natural stone arches, stunning vistas, and clear night skies, it's the perfect spot for a day of adventure and relaxation. Here's your guide to making the most of a day in Arches National Park!

Parking

First things first, the park entrance fee is $30 per vehicle for a 7-day pass, which includes everyone in the car. There are several parking areas throughout the park, including at major trailheads and scenic spots. It's best to arrive early, especially during peak season, to secure a good parking spot.

Morning: Start Your Adventure

Kick off your day with a gentle hike in the Windows Section, the area is easily accessible and offers some of the park's most iconic formations. This hike is an easy one and about 1-mile round trip. You'll get to see the North and South Windows and the Turret Arch. The trail is well-marked and relatively flat, making it perfect for all ages and fitness levels!

Parking: There's a dedicated parking area for the Windows Section, and it's usually easy to find a spot if you're there early.

Mid-Morning: Iconic Arches

Next, head over to the trailhead for the Delicate Arch, the most famous arch in the park. The moderate trail includes some elevation gain and slick rock walking, but it's well worth the effort, it is a 3-mile round trip. The sight of Delicate Arch at the end of the hike is nothing short of spectacular, simply a must-see and perfect for a mid-morning adventure.

Parking: Wolfe Ranch parking area is the starting point for this hike. It has plenty of spaces but can fill up quickly, so it's good to visit earlier in the day.

Lunch Break: Picnic with a View

After your hike, head to one of the picnic areas like the one near Balanced Rock, and enjoy a leisurely lunch with stunning views all around. Don't forget to pack plenty of water and snacks!

Afternoon: Explore More Wonders

For those looking for a more challenging adventure, the Devil's Garden trail offers an exciting option. This trail involves scrambling over rocks and navigating narrow ledges, along the way, you'll encounter Landscape Arch, one of the longest natural arches in the world, as well as Double O Arch and more. It is up to 7.2 miles round trip for the full loop, but you can turn back earlier if you prefer.

Parking: The trailhead at Devil's Garden has a large parking lot, but it's a popular spot, so arriving early or later in the afternoon is advisable.

If the case the Devil's Garden trail is not something you wish to do, take a relaxing scenic drive through the park. The 18-mile road offers numerous pullouts with breathtaking views. Stops like Park Avenue and the Fiery Furnace Viewpoint are perfect for capturing the beauty of the park without much walking!

Night: Stargazing Extravaganza

Arches National Park is an International Dark Sky Park, making it one of the best places in the country for stargazing. Among all the arches, the Windows Section, Balanced Rock, and Panorama Point are excellent stargazing locations. Remember to bring a blanket, a warm jacket (it can get chilly at night), and maybe even a telescope or binoculars for an up-close look at the stars. On a clear night, you'll be treated to a spectacular view of the Milky Way, countless stars, and perhaps even some meteors!

With its awe-inspiring landscapes and endless opportunities for adventure, Arches National Park promises an unforgettable day and night filled with natural beauty and serene moments under the stars.
